CERN pavilion at the annual Thessaloniki International Fair 2024

On Saturday, 7 September, the 2024 Thessaloniki International Fair was officially inaugurated by the Greek Prime Minister. In Pavilion 17 (Academia), where most universities had their exhibitions, CERN had its own dedicated space, as seen in the attached photos.

The exhibit featured a captivating dark room showcasing videos and lightboxes displaying the 70th anniversary posters, alongside two ATLAS muon chambers manufactured in Greece.

Adjacent to this space, an open area was set up with a large screen and projectors for the LHC Interactive Tunnel (LIT). This interactive installation attracted significant attention, with many officials, including the Minister of Education and the General Secretary of Research and Innovation, visiting and enthusiastically playing the LHC football.

Throughout the week-long duration of the Fair, a steady flow of visitors passed through the exhibit. Aristotle University of Thessaloniki students and volunteers were present at all times to guide and engage the public, ensuring a meaningful and informative experience for all.
