CERN exhibition in Warsaw

From 7 June to 2 July 2024, the Warsaw University of Technology (WUT) hosted the captivating multimedia exhibition Accelerating Science, which took visitors on a remarkable journey into the mysteries of the Universe. Organised to celebrate CERNā€™s 70th anniversary, the exhibition took participants through the evolution of scientific discovery, from the Big Bang to the cutting-edge experiments conducted using the Large Hadron Collider (LHC).

The exhibition, divided into three interactive capsules, explored the fascinating realms of matter, antimatter and elementary particles. Visitors were treated to a variety of films, animations and immersive displays that highlighted CERNā€™s pioneering research and the advanced technologies driving breakthroughs in modern science. Expert guides were on hand to ensure that both adults and children had an engaging experience and help visitors uncover the intricacies of the microcosm, one particle at a time.

The event was a collaborative effort between the WUT Faculty of Physics, the University of Warsaw, the Institute of Nuclear Physics (IFJ PAN) and the National Centre for Nuclear Research. During its nearly month-long run on the central WUT campus, the exhibition provided a unique opportunity for the public to explore the wonders of the Universe.
